People forget the unions created the middle class in this country, with the help of socially minded corporations. Any of those still around? If you work for a company where a union negotiates contract including salary and benefits then I don't think its unreasonable that you should have to join that union. Otherwise you are just piggybacking off their efforts, contributing nothing yourself. Why do some people think this is unreasonable?
